 My Personal Favorite for Chilly Weather

Cowl Neck Sweaters

with baggy pants

Sew Quick and wear

This is my absolute favorite-Ribbed knit cowl sweater


This is a tight ribbed knit... You just cut your front and back

Make your front a little more scooped than the back neck

Cut your cowl pieces=2 on fold- sew ends-sew bottom

flip the cowl and sew it on the inside so when you flip forward it

has a nice slope

Sew your sleeves and you can just cut the sleeve ends and the bottom to the right length...no sewing needed on those

DONE and Wear--- be cozy and cool😎


Quick with extending baggy Capris to ankle

Top stitch fake cuff on

Pockets in sides-always a matching accessory

My favorite type pants

You can always make a custom ensemble


Scarves from side leftovers of the same fabric

Infinity scarves or just plain tube scarves or scarves with a slanted sewn end



Earrings from covered buttons by pulling out the shank and buying earring backs in bulk to glue on the back

Keep your outfits organized by buying no slip velvet covered hangers and put your total outfit with scarves and earrings on the same hanger.... always have your compliments together

 Making Things that are Easy and Quick Everything I do is not always sewing as you could see from my Polar Fleece edging blog.  Now I am sewing today, but I am planning a room divider.  I really don't lift heavy things, but I have a doorway that is just a hole to under the stairs where I store things.  I want to put a room divider there. A.  I can't find anything I like. B.  They are probably heavy. So  I am going to put random pieces of cardboard together to the size I want and then cover it with Library fabric that looks like books on shelves.  This has been something I have been searching for and have not been able to find for a month or two.  So I decided to make one. Sewing Sweater Dresses to Escape the Chill

Currently Making Sweater Dresses out of my Knits Stash to keep off the Chill Always, I make the earrings and scarves and then the rest of the dress is fast. The sweater dress I like is composed of many pattern pieces that I like. The bodice from a combination of a dress pattern, and a sweater pattern and sleeve.   Simplicity 2189 dress and length and over lay of sweater pattern Kwik Sew 4069- for sweater fit at top and necklines. The collar from another sweater pattern.   Kwik Sew 4217 The pockets from a pattern piece I keep out because of the size and shape that suits me.  Pocket pieces I like pinned to a burlap type upholstery fabric panel that I use for a back drop for repeat pieces and guitar charts and guitars.   Earrings are covered buttons, that I have pulled the shank out, covered and then glued an earring back on that I buy in bulk. Outfit for a Day

Breaking down the outfits you see.   Pants Crop Top FreeFlowing Jacket Scarf Earrings Scrunchie Mask Second complimentary scarf to intertwine for contrast. I make the pants first,  (1.25 yd)stretch...I have an abundance of free-flowing jackets cut out next to my sewing machine...  Pants are easy no pockets right leg left leg elastic in a circle, fold over the top and topstitch...turn up the bottom edge twice and top stitch...PANTS DONE. link to pants instructions CROP TOP Solid Color Fabric- a yard or less, stretchy or not.
